Our Mission & More - information

C.R.I.S.P. will guide families to resources to enhance the well being of children and families in collaboration with our community partners.

Expected outcomes include, greater family stability, children who are ready to learn, and empowered communities of responsible, productive citizens.

CRISP provides

Three key services – child abuse prevention resources and education, resource information and referral, and urgent needs support projects.

C.R.I.S.P. is the official Madison County Prevent Child Abuse Council and is focused on improving access to information about preventing child abuse and starting a community wide Prevent Child Abuse initiative.

Urgent needs projects at C.R.I.S.P. focus on reducing stress in families with children during times of transition and economic need.

C.R.I.S.P. families are interviewed one-on-one and the Client Coordinator works with them individually to find resources and programs in the community that can best help the family move forward and become self-sufficient. Referred programs may be conducted by professional individuals from local socially related agencies or organizations and include workshops, support groups, food and energy assistance, crisis intervention and other activities.  Such programs are targeted at children, youth, parents, or families in general.

Current Family Centered Programs

Christmas4KIDS – matches children in need with Christmas gifts donated by local community members and business. This program has been very successful and CRISP wishes to continue with it.

SchoolSupplies4KIDS – provides backpacks and required school supplies to children in Madison County. Local residents and businesses make donations towards this program annually and CRISP works with children in the school system to provide them with their needed supplies.

Winter-Wear4KIDS – Every teacher has seen it, the children on the playgrounds at recess without proper winter clothing. Many children are waiting for school buses early in the mornings and at risk for exposure. CRISP will continue taking donations and providing emergency winter clothing, including coats, snowsuits, boots, hats, and gloves.

Band-Choir Clothing4KIDS - started in 2013. C.R.I.S.P. is excited about the opportunity to support our local school band and choir programs by making sure no child misses out simply due to not having the right clothing.
